After the rout at Ai (avenged when Achan was stoned), Joshua broke the southern coalition at Beth-Horon. The Lord cast great hailstones upon the fleeing Amorites, and at Joshua's word the sun stood still over Gibeon and the moon over Aijalon. Joshua 8–10.
