2900 BC Ekur / Nippur Status: ended Casualties: Anzû torn from the sky; Tablet of Destinies recovered

Anzû stole the Tablet of Destinies from Enlil while he bathed; with it he held the powers of decree. The gods feared him. Ninurta loosed his arrows and the wind drove them back. At last he severed Anzû's wings from his body with a bow given by Ea. The Tablet was returned. Akkadian Epic of Anzû.
